Achadh-A Mhullaich, Dervaig, Isle of Mull, Argyll, Bute and the Islands
Achadh a’Mhullaich Is a renovated holiday cottage built of solid stone walls, re-constructed from a former crofters house and outbuildings. It is tucked away in a valley close to harbour, hills and the sea in the area of the North West of Mull. Within walking distance is the shore-line with Croig harbour and a range of pebble and sandy beaches.
From Croig westward there is excellent coastal walking by low basalt cliffs along idyllic shell-sand beaches with haunting views North to Ardnamurchan, the small Isles of Rhum, Muck and the Cuillin mountains of Skye blue on the far distant horizon. Or you can just enjoy the peace, abundant wildlife and farm animals around the house where life takes on a slower pace.
The Self Catering Cottage has two double bedrooms, one with en suite facilities. There is also a double bunk room suitable for adults or children. The living area has a cosy open-plan layout downstairs with a quiet room and games room on the first floor. There are two bathrooms in the house, one which includes a shower.
For the creative visitor there is also a fully equipped studio with materials provided for painting and drawing. This accommodation gives ample space for up to six people but also it can be intimate enough for a quiet holiday for two.
The nearest village of Dervaig has a well-stocked shop/post office and some very good pub food at the Bellachroy Hotel. Close by the house there is the Birlinn Restaurant specialising in local seafood and also has teashop facilities.
There is an art gallery at Calgary Farmhouse which is near the glorious sandy beaches of Calgary Bay.
Also available are a range of sea trips, wildlife walks and bird watching with particularly the TV featured eagle watch opportunities.
