The Old Stables Cottage is a holiday cottage specialising in dog friendly holidays. It is set on a smallholding in Laugharne, in one of the finest locations in West Wales and has 10 acres which are surrounded by fields and woodlands and has stunning far reaching sea and countryside views. The cottage is the perfect place for people who want to get away and have a relaxing break in a very comfortable cottage, in beautiful countryside.

The farm is only half a mile from the township of Laugharne. It is a pleasant stroll down into Laugharne, but with the farm being at the top of a very steep hill it is definitely a more strenuous walk on the way back.

The cottage has two bedrooms, a double and a twin, a large lounge, hallway with cupboards, bathroom with a large double shower, dining conservatory and kitchen. The cottage has been designed with dogs and their owners in mind, it is easy to clean with tiled floors, leather suit and fitted furniture. The cottage has lots of cupboard and wardrobe space and a very well stocked kitchen. Beds are made up on arrival and bath, hand and tea towels are all provided.

The cottage has a TV, video and DVD in the lounge, a CD/radio in the twin room and double room and also in the conservatory. There is a book swap library and unlimited free wi-fi.

Externally there is a large, secure garden to the rear of the cottage and a gated courtyard at the front of the cottage. To the side of the cottage is a gravelled area with a picnic bench and there are also benches in the front of the cottage and at the end of the garden – both benches have stunning views. There is parking for up to 3 cars.

Our cottage is a great year round destination. It is lovely to sit out in the garden or in the courtyard in the summer, but in the winter, or when the weather is not so pleasant you can sit in the conservatory and look across the sea to Worm’s Head on the Gower.

There are no restrictions on the number, size or type of dog, and we are very happy to welcome exempted dogs to the cottage. We only accept guests who are bringing dogs with them and every dog that comes to stay in the cottage has a present of Burns treats.

Not only are dogs welcome at Sir Johns Hill Farm, but there are great facilities for horses too, with stabling and grazing both being available. For those guests who do not have a horse, but would like to ride our horses, lessons are offered with a BHS registered instructor. There is no charge for the use of our horses, just payment to the instructor. we can cater for riders of differing abilities from complete novice to experienced rider wanting to learn more advanced dressage movements.
