Pier Cottage is idyllically situated one mile west of Castlecove, just off the famous Ring of Kerry. It is a sensitively restored, old stone coastguard cottage overlooking its own shingle beach with panoramic views over the beautiful Kenmare estuary. It can be rented throughout the year as two separate units (West End or East End) or one interconnecting cottage sleeping up to 11.

Pier Cottage West End sleeps up to 7 (1 double, 1 twin and 1 bedroom with 3 single beds). It has a spacious open plan living area with wood burning stove, TV and DVD player and an open plan kitchen with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and dining table seating up to 8. Storage and electric heaters throughout.

Pier Cottage East End sleeps 4 (1 double & 1 twin bedroom). It has a spacious open plan living area with an open fire, TV and DVD player and a selection of toys, books and DVDs. The kitchen is open plan, equipped with an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and dining table seating up to 6. Storage and electric heaters throughout.

Pier Cottage is on the water’s edge and immerses you in the wild natural beauty of Kerry. Ideal for all types of activities from hill walking to cycling or writing, it is also perfect for a quiet secluded break as you can swim, fish or shrimp by the cottage, or simply sit outside and watch the seals playing on the rocks and the magical, ever-changing light. As the sun sets over the Atlantic, you can nestle up by the fire, guarded against the elements and listen to the cries of the curlews whilst you sip an Irish whiskey!

We are happy to welcome 1 or 2 well behaved (!) dogs, but please be aware that if we have agreed to have dogs in one end of Pier Cottage, we will regrettably have to refuse a later request to bring dogs to the other end during the same period. We would be grateful if owners could keep their dogs off the furniture and out of the bedrooms. There are wonderful dog walks nearby, especially on the dunes at Derrynane. On hill walks, please keep your dogs well under control as there are lots of sheep around - and of course lambs in spring.
