The Britannia Inn offers homemade food, real ales and pet friendly bed and breakfast accommodation in the heart of the Lake District. This traditional and comfortable inn is located in the village of Elterwater. The village gets its name from the lake that is half a mile from the village.

The pub offers rustic and seasonal dining with a changing lunch and dinner menu. A few examples of the dishes we serve are Cumberland pate with a port sauce or fresh sea bass fillet and slowly braised minted South Lakes lamb. With regards to beverages there is a different guest beer each week as well as the core favourites.

The bedrooms at the inn are a selection of double and twin rooms which either have en suite or private facilities. In the morning a full Britannia breakfast is served in the restaurant.

The pet friendly pub is in a quiet location with many attractions close by, Ambleside and Lake Windermere are only 3 miles away and Hawkshead and Coniston just a little bit further. The area has a range of walks of varying difficulty as well as various places to bike ride. If you want to go further afield then there are lots of places to see just an hour away such as Beatrix Potters Hill Top, Lakeside Aquarium, Wordsworth Trust and many more. Lots of great walks are in the area and you can visit beautiful lakes and see stunning scenery.
