The Anchor in Lydbrook offers pet friendly accommodation in a unique self catering holiday home in the Forest of Dean. Originally a pub that dates from the 15th Century, our beautifully renovated cottage is now the perfect spot for large groups looking for an unforgettable holiday experience.

Our thoughtfully converted holiday home still contains features from its village pub days whilst offering relaxing accommodation. The dog and small pet friendly accommodation sleeps up to 22 people in 7/8 bedrooms, with a couple of cots for the little ones. All are en suite. On the ground floor, the snug houses a sofa bed with an adjoining bathroom and loo.

The dining room seats 20 and the is a large kitchen/diner comes which comes with a range of appliances. We have 3 lounges, an original bar and server, wood burners and a games room.

Outside is a large woodland garden with a pretty fenced area with seating and BBQ facilities. This really is the perfect spot to relax in with friends and family after a busy day exploring the local area. We also have a hot tub, ideal for taking a dip in on a warm summer’s day.

We are based on one of Britain’s best long-distance trails, the Wye Valley Walk. The area also has lots of activities, including climbing, off roading, golf, riding and paintballing. Attractions to visit whilst staying with us include:
