Maes Yr Helmau Cottages offers wonderful self catering accommodation in Dolgellau, set in a glorious countryside position. We boast amazing views of the surrounding Snowdonia mountains, ideal for an idyllic holiday in Gwynedd.

We have two beautifully furnished cottages to choose from. Each cottage is perfect for a relaxing stay and includes Sky TV, a fully-equipped kitchen with a range of appliances and a lounge area to unwind in. Excellent facilities include a washing machine, iPod docking station and a garden area with a patio and garden furniture for al fresco dining in the afternoon sun. Grocery deliveries from a local supermarket can be arranged on request. Ysgubor has a private enclosed hot tub, perfect for unwinding in with a glass of bubbly whilst savouring the views.

Ysgubor – Sleeps 8/9: Our delightful cottage is great for the ultimate rural retreat. Downstairs there is a lounge/diner/kitchen area with a gorgeous, beamed ceiling with stone walls and a log burner for the winter months. The windows take advantage of the stunning countryside views. A large pine table is great for home dining and a welcome tray including homemade Welsh cakes is provided.

Downstairs there is also a shower room and an additional bathroom with a bath and power shower. A twin is available and a single bedroom with a pull-out bed can be provided if required. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with magnificent character beams and a family bedroom with 3 singles.

Outside there is a fenced garden with a patio area with garden furniture and BBQ, plus outstanding views of the surrounding mountains of Snowdonia. You also have use of a games room with a full-size free play slate bed pool table, darts board, table tennis and a drying room for walkers and cyclists. The large outdoor play area has swings, slide, swing ball, badminton, toddler’s activity centre and junior football area and picnic tables. There is secure bike storage as well.

Ty Golchi – Sleeps 6: This charming cottage is great for a memorable break in a scenic location. Downstairs there is a fully-equipped kitchen/diner for home-dining and a cosy lounge with a beamed ceiling with stone walls and a log burner. Savouring the picturesque views whilst tucking into some home-made Welsh cakes from the welcome tray.

Downstairs there is also a double en suite room and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Upstairs there are 2 twin bedrooms.

Outside there is a private enclosed garden with a patio area with garden furniture and BBQ for alfresco dining whilst admiring the spectacular views. Guests also have access to the large outdoor play area and secure bike storage.

Located about 2 miles outside Dolgellau, the cottages are in the ideal location for discovering all that the area has to offer. The area has an array of gorgeous walking and cycling routes, including the Torrent Walk and the Mawddach Estuary Cycle Track. In town there are a range of shops, including 2 supermarkets, a Co-op and Spar. A butcher, fruit shop, bakery and deli are also available. Brilliant attractions to visit include:
