The Sherriffs and Field Cottage offers luxurious self catering accommodation in Lyonshall, nestled on a scenic 700-acre historic landholding. Based in a tranquil and beautiful part of Herefordshire, we are the ideal place to escape from the pressures of modern life.

Our two properties, The Sherriffs and Field Cottage, offer everything you need for a relaxing retreat in the country. Both properties are elegantly furnished and come with an array of facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The Sherriffs: Our gorgeous country house sleeps up to 18 people, great for a family or group celebration. Offering a touch of the Downton Abbey lifestyle, this spacious Grade II Listed Queen Anne House is set in a secluded position on the estate. Inside there are 3 large reception rooms to unwind in, a magnificent dining room, a drawing room and a stunning sitting room. A large family kitchen is great for cooking up a storm in. Upstairs there are 8 large bedrooms with 6 bathrooms, including 4 en suites.

Excellent facilities include a welcome pack of local items, table tennis, badminton, Sky TV, a DVD player, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, larder and an open fire. Outside there is garden furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining when the sun is shining.

Field Cottage: Our charming cottage is in a wonderful orchard setting, boasting breathtaking views over the Welsh Black Mountains and the South Shropshire Hills. Inside the interiors blends into the rural surroundings, offering rustic antique furniture and a homely feel. The property has a spacious open plan sitting/dining room which opens onto the south-facing terrace, great for a BBQ when the sun is shining. Upstairs there are two bedrooms: one double and one twin which share a bathroom.

Facilities include a welcome pack of local items, table tennis, badminton, TV, a DVD player, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, larder and an open fire.

While staying with us you can use a fabulous catering service. We recommend contacting the caterer directly but we can do this for you at an additional cost.

You can visit a range of fantastic attractions in the area. Croft Castle is home to a majestic 17th Century stone manor house with beautiful gardens, whilst Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo offers a magical day out for the whole family.
