Cober Hill is the perfect location for a holiday with your furry friend. All our bedrooms are pet friendly (and en-suite), and we have an allocated pet-friendly lounge and dining area. Outside we have nine acres of gardens and grounds for you to walk (and play) in, and you only have to step outside our gate onto the lane that leads to the sea, the Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track footpath.

All along the Yorkshire coast are beautiful beaches (most available all year round) where you can walk for miles and miles. There’s no worry when you’re ready to come home at the end of the day as we welcome muddy boots and paws and we have a drying room all ready and waiting to get everything dry ready for your next day’s adventure.

We offer a delicious choice of locally-sourced home-cooked food and comfortable, simple accommodation where you can relax in the peace and tranquility which has been bringing guests back to us since we first opened in 1920. We are owned by The Cober Hill Charitable Trust and all profits which we make are returned to the Trust to keep the magic of Cober Hill for future generations of guests to enjoy.

Our idyllic location between Scarborough and Whitby makes us the ideal location for an outdoor-themed holiday, whether your interest is walking, running, cycling, birdwatching, riding, fossil-hunting or simply spending time outdoors enjoying the landscape of the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Coast.

Scarborough is only 6 miles away with attractions for all ages including the Castle, the Sealife Centre and Alpamare Water Park. You'll also find plenty of entertainment at the Scarborough Spa, the Open Air Theatre and the Stephen Joseph Theatre.

The surrounding area offers something for everyone, with the bustling market towns of Helmsley and Malton (the food capital of Yorkshire!), and Pickering which is home to the famous North York Moors Railway. Further afield you can visit the home of famous Yorkshire vet James Herriot in Thirsk or spend a day enjoying the shopping and museums in York.
