Maypole Inn, Skipton, North Yorkshire
The Maypole Inn is a traditional village pub and hotel positioned in the Yorkshire Dales village of Long Preston, between the market towns of Skipton and Settle, offering accommodation, real ale, bed and breakfast and food all day.
The pub and hotel are an ideal base for walking and touring holidays. Open Yorkshire Dales moorland, hill slopes of the Pennines, caves and waterfalls are all within easy reach. We close to famous walks such as the Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks and also nearby are Dales landmarks such as Gordale Scar and Malham Cove.
There are two bars, with open fires in the winter months offering a good selection of cask ales including Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Moorhouse's Premier and a wide choice of wines by the glass. Outside seating for warmer weather provides a view of Long Preston moor.
Awarded four stars by the English Tourist Board, the Maypole offers six comfortable and well-furnished bedrooms. Each room has its own private bathroom, television, Wi-Fi and tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms vary in size to accommodate everyone from a single visitor to a family group. There is also a quiet sitting room for the use of the guests.
We are open all day for food and drink so come back and relax at any time.
Our dining room can seat up to fifty people. The menu, served throughout the pub, provides a wide choice of traditional favourites such as Yorkshire ham and eggs, steak and ale pie and huge battered haddock. There is also a blackboard displayed daily with some more unusual dishes. The emphasis is still on good home cooking but we are never short of a few surprises!
Double or twin room for a minimum of 3 nights between Sunday and Thursday for £55.00 per night including breakfast. Some holiday weeks are excluded from this offer.
In 1695 Ambrose Wigglesworth opened the doors of the Maypole Inn to his first paying customers. Over three hundred years later the joint traditions of hospitality and a warm welcome are still going strong.
