Windyhill Holiday Cottage stands in its own hillside grounds with magnificent views of the Summer Isles and Ocean. In the village of Altandhu, it is within 4 miles of shops, inns and an acclaimed hotel and restaurant. The surrounding countryside offers excellent walking and there are many sandy beaches, activities, things to do including deep sea, trout and salmon fishing and boat trips to the islands. Ullapool is 26 miles away by road.

The well heated accommodation provides on the ground floor, one king size with en suite, one double bedroom and one twin bedded room (all bedrooms have built-in wardrobes), a shower and whirlpool bath. a laundry room, hall and the entrance vestibule. On the first floor, to take advantage of the view, are an open plan living room, dining area and kitchen. With fantastic views of the sea and loads to do in the area for families.

The cottage is extremely well insulated and heated making it very comfortable even in mid-winter. Underfloor electric heating is provided to the tiled ground floor while the upper floor has modern electric storage radiators and a high tech solid fuel stove.

The sea is only 150 meters from the front door.

There is so much to see and do in this part of the country it's difficult to know where to start. Every corner of the road brings another fantastic scenery with huge amounts of walks from peaceful walks along the coast to hidden caves in the side of mountains. Seeing springs bubbly out of the side of mountains and being able to drink it does something for the soul.

There are lots of beautiful beaches across this area such as Achmelvich beach with its fantastic white sand. The beach was awarded the prestigious yellow flag this year. Clachtoll Beach lies on the far North West coast of Windyhill between Lochinver and Point of Stoer but past Achmelvich. A well known beach with some rugged, rocky terrain including the Split Rocks. This area is described as the last great wilderness area in Europe and is a landscape of stunning beauty. There are many more fantastic beaches in the area.
