Dog Friendly Days Out

Museum of the Broads

Stalham, Norfolk

Museum of the Broads offers wonderful dog friendly days out for all the family in Stalham, Norfolk. We have a lovely variety of trails and activities for all ages and a range of exhibitions on offer.

Situated in a unique and beautiful riverside setting, our excellent museum is informative and houses wonderful collections. You can discover the boats of the Broads and see how people’s working lives shaped the landscape. The collection includes objects which show how people used the land and waterways for food, transport and leisure. You can see a variety of rare boats and tools. A fascinating photo archive can also be enjoyed.

Children will have great time visiting us. Our ‘hats off’ trail around the museum involves children meeting a Broads’ character by wearing his or her hat and taking a selfie to prove it. A range of superb attractions include: companion teddies, the dolly duckling trail and a wildlife trail for the very young. Older children can enjoy our kids' explorer packs, knot tying, quizzes, puzzles and colouring in, dressing up like a marsh worker or Victorian lady and gentleman, steering a static boat and letting off steam on our land locked play boat.

For adults we offer a memorable steam day out experience on Falcon for those who dream of being a steam boat engineer or helmsman/helmswoman. A number of speakers can talk to you about the museum, Falcon and the history of Broadland. Lunch is included in the price.

We are truly dog friendly and dogs are welcome on the steam boat, Falcon and the museum.

The Museum re-opens on Wednesday 27th March 2019.
