Haydon Bridge has a good range of facilities and just 4 miles away is Hadrian's Wall (World Heritage Site). For a day trip you could visit Durham, Carlisle, the Lake District, Kielder Water and Scottish Borders.
If you want to stay local there are some wonderful walks and we can provide details and local maps for these. There is also fishing on the River South Tyne which is just a 2 minute walk away.
