The Hen Dy (‘old house’ in Welsh) is the oldest surviving house on the estate. It faces south overlooking the walled gardens with views to the parkland and woodland walk and we are in the process of creating a Baroque garden beside it. It used to be the Gardeners’ Bothy, Brew House and Laundry for the Estate and has a bell tower which was used to announce mealtimes &c. It is traditional Welsh stone-built house with a slate roof.
