The Commodore Guest House - Self Catering Suites offers fantastic self catering accommodation just a 3-minute walk from Rothesay and the thriving town centre. We are based on the gorgeous Isle of Bute and in the perfect location for exploring Argyll.

We have two beautifully furnished pet friendly suites available, Scalpsie and Rothesay. Both are finished to a high standard and come with everything you need for a tranquil getaway in a great location. The rooms enjoy magnificent views over Rothesay Bay and the rolling hills of the Cowal peninsula.

Scalpsie Suite is on the ground floor and comes with a family room with two single beds and a bunk bed. The living room is the perfect place to relax with a coffee whilst enjoying the spectacular sea view. Our brand-new Rothesay Site is also on the ground and includes a double bedroom, plus a sofa bed. The living room offers outstanding sea views and a table and chairs are perfect for dining on.

Both suites come with well-equipped kitchens for rustling up some delicious dishes, including a toaster, electric kettle, microwave, fridge and air fryer. We even provide a delightful continental breakfast in your kitchen, including milk, cereal, yoghurt, bread, orange juice, butter and jam.

The suites also include en suite bathrooms with modern walk-in showers, double glazing, a TV, DVD player, Wi-Fi and a hair dryer.

Rothesay is the main town on the Isle of Bute, offering a wonderful Victorian frontage, beautiful esplanade gardens, the Isle of Bute Discovery Centre, Rothesay Castle and Bute Museum. You can also visit Ettrick Bay which is to the north of Rothesay and home to Bute’s most accessible beach. Further attractions to visit include:
