Bay View offers self catering accommodation in a unique position in Cadgwith near Helston in Cornwall. The self catering accommodation is a Grade II listed property that was probably built in the 16th Century to house a large capstan used to winch up seine boats originally used for pilchard fishing.

The advertising, television, and film industries have used the house on a number of occasions and it also features on many postcards sent around the world. Recently the house was refitted to a high standard and has a modern kitchen and living area including slate flooring throughout and the addition of a cosy wood burning stove for winter. Lulled by the sound of the waves you can enjoy sea views from the main bedroom and sitting room. French windows lead out to the garden and here you can watch the daily activities of the local fishermen, village events or just relax in the sunshine and enjoy your holiday.

On the first floor is a double bedroom and twin bedroom with 2 single beds. There is a bathroom with bath, shower, basin, shaver point and WC. On the ground floor is an open plan kitchen and living room with a fully fitted kitchen with washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge/freezer. The living room area comes with a cast iron wood-burning stove, colour wide screen television, satellite TV, DVD and video player, and stereo CD/radio, table and chairs and 2 sofas.

Outside is a garden with large garden with outdoor furniture and slipway (with the owner's winch and two boats) leading directly onto the beach.

Heating: storage heaters and wood burning stove.

Parking - Season ticket for the public car park 500 yards away but there are usually spaces nearby to park temporarily for unloading.

The owners have two friendly cats and live on site in self contained premises. The village remains a working environment and in rough weather boats may be pulled up onto the slipway or garden. No children under 5 years of age due to the safety of the cliff edge and slipway.

Sandy beaches: Kynance Cove, Kennack Sands, Poldhu, Coverack, Polurrian, Gunwalloe - all with cafes, hotels and snack stands nearby. There are many smaller beaches and harbours to discover tucked away around the coastline. St Michael's Mount is only a 40 minute drive away with a long sandy beach at Marazion.

Interesting towns nearby include Helston, Falmouth, St Ives, Newlyn, Penzance and Truro. Beautiful gardens can be explore as well: Trebah, Glendurgan, Trengwainton, Trelissick, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project.
