The Watermill is situated in the quiet village of Ings and offers excellent accommodation and fantastic food and drink. We are just 2 miles East of Windermere and surrounded by pretty walks, cycleways and the stunning Lakeland fells. Ambleside, Grasmere, Keswick and Hawkshead are within easy reach, making us a great base for exploring Cumbria.

You can choose from 8 tastefully furnished en suite bedrooms. We have 1 single, 6 doubles and 1 family/twin room. Two of the rooms have a delightful balcony to relax on. A full English is included in the price and packed lunches can be provided on request. All the rooms come with a range of facilities:

The Watermilll offers a relaxed atmosphere and a large menu to serve all tastes. There is a large daily chef’s specials board on offer, and we provide traditional dishes, both English and continental. From battered haddock to chicken curry, we have something for everyone.

Our pub has a brilliant reputation for serving quality drinks. Our award-winning micro-brewery is located onsite. A great range of beers that are brewed on site are always on offer and we have an impressive gin and whisky menu.

Lots of fabulous attractions are in the local area. The world of Beatrix Potter offers a magical experience for the whole family. You can see 23 enchanting tales brought to life, complete with sights, sounds and smells of the Lake District countryside. The Lakes Aquarium is a great day out and has lots of marine life to see.
