Felsbeck is a comfortable modern bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac just north of Ambleside town centre within a level 5 minute walk of all amenities or just rurn right out of the drive to a lovely path alongside the babbling Stock Ghyll Beck through fields to some of the best views around.

Felsbeck has central heating throughout with two guest bedrooms, one double, newly decorated with a totally new en-suite shower room and one single, all on the ground floor with easy access. The good size single room has exclusive use of the luxury house bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and an over bath power shower - just right after a walk or just to relax before going out in the evening.

Both rooms are spacious and luxurious with superbly comfortable beds, lots of drawer/wardrobe space and quality soft furnishings including Egyptian cotton towels. Both rooms have colour television (double room also has DVD player) plus tea or coffee making facilities and of course hairdryers; there is plenty of room in the utility room for wet boots or coats plus there is a washing machine, tumble dryer and iron available to guests.

Breakfast is served either in our elegant dining room or on the delightful patio if you prefer. We serve a traditional full English menu with lighter or vegetarian alternatives, wherever possible using local or regional produce.

The LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK is regarded as England\'s finest area of scenic and natural beauty, with every opportunity available to enjoy it. Ambleside is situated right at the centre of the Park.

The town has a long and famous history for over 150 years as the principal tourist centre for our Lake District visitors. Felsbeck Bed and Breakfast is within easy reach of all Ambleside\'s choice of restaurants, cafés, pubs and take-away food shops catering to every taste and pocket. There is also a wide variety of bakers, outdoor, clothing, book, picture and photography stores as well as chemists and a traditional hardware shop where you can still buy three screws! If you want to find out more about the history and culture of the area then a visit to the Armitt Museum is a must do.

The town is easily reached by road, being 20 miles from the M6 motorway, and is served by several bus services, including National Express. Rail travel is to Windermere, four miles away with easy bus and taxi access. There is a direct Manchester Airport/Windermere rail link.

Ambleside is a very convenient starting point for excursions, walking, cycling or driving, into all areas of the Lake District, situated as it is at the hub of the area\'s road system. The town centre is only a mile from the head of Lake Windermere, which offers a variety of water activities.

Activities in the Lake District have an outdoor emphasis, combined with simple leisurely enjoyment of the magnificent scenery and its literary and artistic heritage. The area is justly famous as an escape for stressed out urban dwellers, who come to enjoy a little solitude as they walk the hills.

Your stay in Ambleside provides wonderful opportunities to explore the area, walk by a waterfall, explore the higher fells, try your hand at off road driving, canoe on Windermere, or just enjoy the magnificent scenery while planning which of the many excellent restaurants or pubs to have your next meal at. Whatever you choose to do here then Felsbeck provides the perfect base to explore and enjoy the Lake District.
