The Rothay Garth Bed and Breakfast at Ambleside is a beautiful traditional Victorian Lakeland slate building set in its own landscaped grounds. Whilst retaining its character and many original features, the Rothay Garth offers en suite facilities, a comfortable spacious resident’s lounge, elegant breakfast room and a large private car park.

Better still, we are located only a few minutes’ walk from Lake Windermere at waterhead and only a short stroll to the restaurants, bars, shops and facilities of Ambleside making us convenient as well as elegant.

We have a range of bedrooms to choose from, from cosy to superior rooms, offering something for everyone. All the rooms come with complimentary Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board.

Family Rooms

Our family rooms have 1 double bed, 1 single bed and an en suite bathroom.

Superior Rooms

The superior rooms are similar to the comfy rooms but offer more space and features.

Comfy Rooms

Our comfy rooms are smaller than our superior rooms and are well-equipped to a high standard.

Cosy Rooms

The cosy rooms are ideal for a romantic getaway for 2.

Here at The Rothay Garth B&B we pride ourselves on our excellent breakfast. We offer a freshly prepared breakfast each morning to suit all tastes including a Full English and a range of lighter hot and continental options, with yoghurts, fresh fruits and a selection of cereals available.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of our period property we do not have accessible rooms or wheelchair access at Rothay Garth. Whilst we do not have wheelchair accessible rooms, we do have rooms located on the ground floor, please note there are two steps at the entrance of Rothay Garth.
