The Abbey Coach House Cottages offers pet friendly self catering accommodation located in Windermere, Cumbria. Both holiday cottages are set within the private and well cared for grounds of the Abbey Coach House. We are ideally situated in the heart of The Lake District National Park and provide a great holiday location for the whole family to enjoy.

The Coaches:

The Coaches is the larger of our two properties, sleeping up to 4 people. With a bright living area and two separate bedrooms, the Coaches offers an ideal base from which to explore the Lake District National Park. There is ample parking and an outside area equipped with patio furniture together with a BBQ for al-fresco dining. The Coaches provides a sense of bringing the outdoors in with French glass doors which open directly onto the original cobbled courtyard

This recently refurbished ground floor property offers an open plan lounge with corner sofa, dining area and well equipped kitchen, two tastefully decorated separate bedrooms, (one double and one twin) and separate shower room.

The Farriers:

Originally the old forge, The Farriers is a self contained ground floor cottage. The tastefully designed interior creates an ideal living space for 2 guests. The garden area is complete with patio furniture and BBQ entirely for your use. Although away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist towns of Windermere and Bowness, it is so easy to access wonderful walks, local attractions or walk to the local restaurants and pubs from the cottage.

The Farriers maintains some original features of the old forge and combines character with modern living; a relaxing retreat at any time of the year. It offers a bright and open plan living space with a well equipped fitted kitchen, breakfast bar, comfortable lounge and a double sofa bed. The separate bedroom has a king size bed and en suite shower room.

Surrounded by the Lakeland hills, with private parking, these unique self catering properties are just a short stroll from the nearby villages, where restaurants and pubs, serving local ales, are in abundance.

Whether it’s a romantic break or a relaxing family holiday, the properties are ideally situated as a base for exploring the Lake District and all it has to offer.

We have one of the largest lakes and some of the most beautiful scenery you could ever wish to see in this corner of England. From the tranquil lakes to the quaint villages and hamlets, the inspiring fells and many local attractions are all within easy reach of our beautiful village and Abbey Coach House.
