The Old Bakehouse offers outstanding self catering accommodation in the quaint village of Norham. Our cottage near Berwick-upon-Tweed in Northumberland is the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life.

Our gorgeous property is elegantly furnished and comes with everything your need for a special to stay in a lovely area of the country. Built originally in the 1800s from stone taken from the ruins of a nearby Castle, the house still retains many original features, including a weathered stone gargoyle reportedly taken from the old castle. The house has now been beautifully restored to offer luxurious accommodation.

The house comes with two cosy sitting to unwind in, with both including toasty log fires. The snug is equipped with a Smart TV, and stereo, whilst both offer wonderful bay windows and shutters. You can also unwind in the large garden and sun-filled conservatory. We even have a fabulous bar/games room to enjoy to the rear of the house is the old bakery.

Rustle up some delicious dishes in the well-equipped kitchen that includes a range of excellent appliances: range cooker, larder fridge and dishwasher. A lovely dining room seats up to 18 people.

In total, there are 7 gorgeous bedrooms, plus 1 bathroom and 2 shower rooms. Bedrooms include:

Bedroom 1: Family room with 1 double bed, and 1 single bed + pull out single bed. There is also space for the fold-out bed, which can be made up on request.

Bedroom 2: 1 double bed.

Bedroom 3: 1 king sized bed or 2 single beds. There is also space for the fold-out bed, which can be made up on request.

Bedroom 4: 1 double bed.

Bedroom 5: 1 double bed, with access to balcony and interconnecting door to bedroom 6.

Bedroom 6: 1 king sized bed or 2 single beds, and interconnecting door to bedroom 5.

Bedroom 7: 1 double bed, with en-suite shower room.

Outside there is a private garden for lawn and a stone BBQ and outdoor dining for al fresco dining when the sun is shining.

The delightful village of Norham is home to a village store, a pub, an award-winning butcher and a bakery. The area is also great for salmon fishing, shooting, walking and cycling. You can also visit the majestic ruins of a Northam Castle up the hill. Great attractions to visit include:

Cocklawburn Beach.
