Details

We are a family-operated farm located in West Cumbria, just a stone's throw away from both the beach and some of the most picturesque countryside in the UK - the Lake District. Our strategic location serves as an ideal base for accessing England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, standing proudly at 3,209ft. If you're into water sports, our farm is only a few minutes away from a fantastic beach, perfect for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, and sailing.

We offer three charming self-catering cottages:

The Old Bakehouse (Sleeps 2): This open-plan cottage, situated in the heart of the Cumbrian Lake District, boasts original slate floors, a woodburner and its own private hot tub. Dating back to the 18th century, The Old Bakehouse features a bedroom with a zip & link bed, allowing for either a superking or twin setup. The cottage also includes a modern wet room, fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine and underfloor heating throughout. Enjoy the tranquility of your own private courtyard with patio and seating, complete with a fenced-off hot tub.

Dairymaids Cottage (Sleeps 4): Another 18th-century gem on our working farm, Dairymaids Cottage exudes character with its wood/log burner, original slate floors and private hot tub. With two bedrooms featuring zip & link beds, accommodating either superking or twin arrangements and a convenient wet room downstairs, this cottage offers comfort and convenience. The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area is equipped with modern amenities, including a smart TV, dishwasher and washing machine. Radiators upstairs and underfloor heating downstairs ensure warmth throughout the cottage. Relax in the private courtyard with your own patio and seating, complete with a fenced-off hot tub available daily.

The Old Farmhouse (Sleeps 6): This spacious holiday cottage retains its 18th-century charm while offering modern comforts, including a large fireplace with a wood burner and a private hot tub. With three bedrooms (two master bedrooms with zip & link beds and one bedroom with twin beds) and a wet room downstairs, it comfortably accommodates up to six guests. Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen, open-plan living/dining area and underfloor heating downstairs with radiators upstairs. Like the other cottages, The Old Farmhouse features its own private courtyard with patio and seating, along with a fenced-off hot tub available daily.

Venturing just a 15-minute walk from Shepherds Views will lead you to a beautiful sandy beach, perfect for family fun or romantic sunset strolls. Explore the nearby Hallsenna Moor, a conservation area teeming with wildlife, or visit Spindlecraft, a quaint craft shop housed in the old station house just a short stroll away. With the convenience of the nearby railway station serving the Barrow to Carlisle West Coast line, you can easily explore the surrounding area without relying solely on driving.
