Whether you require a holiday or short break Ollerbrook Barn offers a warm, welcoming and comfortable stay with the wild appeal of spectacular scenery.

The bed and breakfast is situated in the heart of the hamlet of Ollerbrook Booth, one of the ancient settlements of Edale and is surrounded by farmland with spectacular views. An ideal base for walking at any time of year, the footpath leads directly from the back garden up to The Nab, onto Kinder Scout and the Pennine Way and paths lead out in four directions from the front gate.

Ollerbrook Barn dates from 1798 and has been lovingly converted into a comfortable family run guesthouse. It is situated in the farming hamlet of Ollerbrook Booth, one of the ancient booths (settlements) forming part of the parish of Edale.

Set spectacularly amidst the wildest scenery of the Derbyshire Peak District, Edale is the starting point of Britainís first and most famous long-distance path, the 270 mile Pennine Way. There are also numerous shorter walks to suit everyone from the beginner to the amateur mountaineer.

The village has a shop, two pubs, a welcoming church, an information centre (and mountain rescue post!).

Despite its remote appeal Edale can be easily reached by road or by train on the Hope Valley line between Manchester and Sheffield, guests can be met at the station if necessary.

Whilst Edale is spectacular, there are many other attractions all but a short drive away. Just over the hill lies the attractive village of Castleton, with its popular show caves, gift shops and Norman castle. The stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are in easy reach, as well as the elegant spa town of Buxton, the market town of Bakewell and not forgetting the attractions of the Derbyshire Dales themselves.

At Ollerbrook Barn we welcome children of all ages. A cot can be provided by prior arrangement. We cater for vegetarians and can provide packed lunches and friendly advice to make your day trips complete.

The Ollerbrook Suite offers a comfortable bedroom with colour television and drink making facilities, together with a dressing room and fully equipped private bathroom with shower.

Hollins View is at the front of the house and has a view towards Hollins Cross. It has a double bed and drinks making facilities.

Nab View also features drink making facilities, and offers a breath-taking view towards Grindsbrook and Kinder Scout. Twin beds are provided.

Grindsbrook View is our double room at the back of the house and also has spectacular views of Kinder Scout. The room has a double bed and drinks making facilities.

Hollins View, Grindsbrook View and Nab View share a spacious fully fitted Bathroom.

Whether you require a holiday, a short-break or are on a business trip to the Manchester or Sheffield areas, we can offer a warm, friendly, comfortable stay at Ollerbrook Barn with the wild appeal of Edale and its spectacular scenery.

Ollerbrook Booth is situated up an unmarked farm lane off the valley road, a quarter of a mile east of Edale public car park, look for a derelict farm building on the corner and "Ollerbrook only" sign. We are directly in front of you at the top of the lane.

The Vale of Edale is a dramatic valley bordered by the lush green hills of Mam Tor and Rushup Edge to the south and to the north by the bleak moorland of Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District.

It is the ideal setting for outdoor pursuits such as caving, mountain biking, rock climbing, hang gliding, horse riding and pony trekking. The centre of Edale village, and the start of the Pennine Way, is around five minutes walk across the fields or a few minutes drive. Edale has a charming peakland church, two pubs, a general store, two cafes, an information centre and railway station on the Sheffield to Manchester main line. There is also a regular bus service connecting Edale with the neighbouring villages of Hope and Castleton, and the nearby market town of Chapel-en-le-Frith.
