Michill Cottage in Castleton is a 17th Century stone cottage which offers high-quality accommodation to suit all your needs. We are perfect for a tranquil holiday in the Peak District.

Being a terraced stone property with 2 foot thick walls, Michill Cottage is always warm and welcoming, especially in the cooler months. It has stripped wood floors in the lounge and kitchen and is centrally heated with a double and a twin room to accommodate 4 guests. The bathroom is equipped with a white 2-piece suite and has a stand-alone electric shower unit, which is very powerful and well welcomed after a day on the hill.

The newly fitted kitchen is well equipped comes with crockery, glassware, utensils, saucepans and oven to tableware Outside to the rear of the property there is a courtyard with a table and chairs. A great place for an afternoon glass of wine.

We have dogs and welcome others to visit. The cottage is clean, pet hair-free, doesn't smell "doggy" and in excellent condition. We are happy for you to leave your well-behaved dog in the cottage if you visit one of the local attractions or pubs that doesn’t take dogs. Please do not allow dogs on the beds.

On the doorstep and within 50 yards of the front door, in each direction, is the start and finish of several walks, being as long or as short as you like. For walking, the Peak National Park is unsurpassed. Virtually opposite Michill Cottage and nestled between two cottages is the start of one of many walks. It is very dramatic, going between limestone crags and opens out beneath the castle.

Maps for walks in the locality are at the cottage for your use, but please ensure they are left behind when you leave so others can also enjoy them. The Tourist Information Office in Castleton has a wide range of maps available and is only a 5-minute stroll from the cottage.
