Spring House Farm, Castleton, nestles on the slopes of the the iconic Lose Hill/Mam Tor Great Ridge walk, the ideal location for guests with dogs. A secluded Grade II listed Georgian farm property, the house, Shepherd’s Hut and two charming stone built holiday cottages are all set in well kept gardens. The property offers four units to let:

Shippon Cottage: A spacious, luxurious and romantic cottage for two with wonderful views of Lose Hill. Shippon Cottage features a spectacular antique four poster bed set in a large 7m by 5m bedroom and adjoining sitting room. This upstairs sitting room and bedroom can be separated with drapes into two rooms with a comfortable sofa bed giving flexibility for a third guest/child.

There is a second sitting area downstairs with a cast iron living flame gas stove all of which gives a cosy, as well as, luxurious feel to the cottage. The downstairs bathroom has a bath and power shower while the dining-kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cooker, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Gas-fired central heating and double glazing make the cottage comfortable at all times.

The downstairs sitting room opens onto a private terrace and lawn looking directly to the slopes of Lose Hill and ideal for your dog. Parking is available with the cottage plus plenty of storage for bikes and climbing equipment. The cottage has excellent Wi-Fi. Full laundry facilities are available if required.

Well behaved and friendly dogs are welcome at £10 for one dog or £15 for two. Maximum two dogs. No puppies or young dogs please.

Harry Eyre Cottage: Originally built over 300 years ago Harry Eyre Cottage retains the original character of a Derbyshire farm cottage but with all modern conveniences. With fabulous views west to Mam Tor the cottage has a generously sized enclosed garden, ideal for guests with dogs.

The holiday cottage offers a fitted open plan kitchen and dining area with a breakfast bar located to provide fantastic views of Mam Tor. The kitchen window opposite overlooks the farm courtyard while the sitting room opens onto a private garden and sitting area complete with babbling brook.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. The sitting room has a cosy log burning stove, plus TV and DVD. The cottage has excellent Wi-Fi.

There are two bathrooms, one a spacious downstairs wet room with shower, toilet and wash basin; the other an upstairs bathroom with elegant Edwardian style roll-top bath. There are two bedrooms, one a double with an antique style brass bed and a breathtaking view of Mam Tor again; the other, a twin room with antique style metal frame beds looking out to the courtyard.

The cottage is cosy with an electric central heating system and double glazing as well as a log burner. (All logs are provided as is all bed and bathroom linen). Car parking space is available next to the cottage. The cottage welcomes well behaved friendly dogs at £10 for one dog or £15 for two. Maximum two dogs - no puppies or young dogs please.

Spring House. Available for nine weeks over July/September, Spring House is a bright, charming and stylish Grade II listed 1820s farmhouse sympathetically updated for the 21st century. The house sleeps 8 in four bedrooms and, like the cottages, is located within walking distance of Castleton with its castle, caves and mines and set amongst some of the country’s best walking routes.

The relaxing four bedroomed, three reception roomed Georgian farmhouse is in a stunning location, with a beautiful south facing garden. The house offers 3 double rooms with super king, king and queen sized beds plus a twin room (and a sofa bed in the study). There are two upstairs bathrooms (one with a shower and a roll top bath, the other shower only) plus a downstairs cloakroom. Well behaved dogs are welcome (max 1) at no extra charge. Absolutely no puppies, young dogs under 18 month, in season or aggressive dogs please!

The house is available for seven or 14 night stays only, Saturday-Saturday over the summer months

The Shepherd’s Hut: In addition to the house and cottages there is a Shepherd’s Hut at Spring House Farm, (sleeps two). Available for short and longer stays, unfortunately it doesn’t take dogs. Again prices and availability are on the website.

Spring House Farm is situated near Castleton, in the Hope Valley, which is generally regarded as the heart of the Peak District National Park.
