Shirley Hall Farm has three, high quality, well appointed self-catering cottages. The holiday cottages are set within the farm grounds or near to Shirley Village.
Hall Farm Bungalow:
Hall Farm Bungalow is Close to Shirley Village with superb views over our farm. It has a large garden, ample parking space, and is comfortably furnished. The bungalow sleeps 6 in three bedrooms - 1 double room and 2 twin/double rooms.
The self catering bungalow is equipped with an automatic washing machine, microwave, colour TV and storage heaters. Suitable for persons with limited mobility. All guests are welcome on the farm. Free coarse fishing. You can walk to the woods or to the village pub which is just up the road, where meals are available.
Hall Farm Bungalow sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms - 1 double room and two twin/double bedrooms.
New House Farm:
A spacious old farmhouse (18th century) quietly situated in centre of rolling farmland near to Shirley village. Beamed sitting room with wood-burner. Golf course 2 miles away.
The farmhouse sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms - 3 doubles and 1 twin room.
The Saddlery is a listed Victorian 1st floor barn conversion on our farm. It has a large open plan living area/kitchen and family bedroom. Near Shirley Village and well away from traffic. Ample off road parking, colour TV, washing machine, microwave, night storage heating. Electricity included. All guests welcome on the farm. Free coarse fishing.
The Saddlery sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms - 1 Family room (1 double and 1 single bed) and 1 single room.
Shirley is located 10 miles NW of Derby and 4 miles SSE of Ashbourne, just outside the Peak District National Park and in a picturesque area known as the Derbyshire Dales.
Ashbourne set in the Derbyshire Dales is a historic market town set on a river at the edge of the Peak District National Park. Full of old listed buildings, the town itself has an abundance of antique and craft shops, and places to wine and dine. Royal Shrovetide football held on Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday each year is a sight to behold. Try the Highland Gathering event held in July, where Scotland, its culture, traditions and sports come to Ashbourne.
Dovedale is close by with its wonderful scenic walks, stepping stones and picturesque Thorpe Cloud. Dovedale is famous as the scene of 'The Compleat Angler' and with its many rivers and reservoirs, Derbyshire is a haven for fishing.
For sport, Derbyshire is a must with varying cycle trails, riding schools, and pony trekking. River and still water canoeing, water sports, walking, climbing, fishing and golf are all available locally. Carsington Water sports and visitor centre is nearby.
Chatsworth House, historic home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire is a must. The house itself, with its many treasures and gardens, has also a farm shop, children's farmyard and adventure playground. Chatsworth House Kedleston Hall, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall and Sudbury Hall with its museum of childhood are not to be missed; or walk back in time at the incredible Calke Abbey.
Other attractions near the self catering accommodation include Alton Towers, Gulliver's Kingdom and Waterworld theme parks.
