Bratton Mill Cottage is nestled at the western edge of Exmoor National Park, in a beautiful vallet setting at Bratton Fleming. This village is just a short drive from Barnstaple jand is an ideal base from which to explore Devon. Fresh flowers, bed linen, large fluffy towels, toiletries and a welcome tea tray with homemade cake/biscuits are all included.
Our holiday cottage offers comfortable and spacious family self catering accommodation for up to 4 guests (plus cot and/or ‘Z’ bed, if required).
The ground floor has a sitting room with woodburner and discreetly hidden TV/DVD/video, CD/radio, newly fitted kitchen/breakfast room with large ceramic hob, oven, microwave and fridge, bathroom with shower and a large entrance lobby with washing machine and dryer pulley.
The first floor has a large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a large twin bedded room. All the rooms are beautifully furnished, sunny and with lovely views.
Well behaved dogs are very welcome. The location is favoured by guests who enjoy the many walks from the cottage front door in outstanding scenery.
Guests with young families enjoy the safety of the shallow trout stream and playing ‘pooh’ sticks from the bridge, feeding and collecting eggs from the ducks and hens. Older children enjoy building dams, the swing pulley and the log bridge. Within a short drive there are a number of educational and fun outings for the young and lovely beaches are close by.
Bratton Mill Cottage is fully equipped and home from home. Nothing to bring other than personal possessions and provisions.
Equally ideal for a summer or winter stay, the cottage has a barbecue and picnic bench on the bank of the trout stream, a furnished sun terrace, a cosy wood burner and full central heating.
The area is a walkers and riders paradise with many walks and rides from Bratton Mill through outstanding scenery – short strolls or circular hikes. Stabling and grazing by arrangement.
The South West Coastal Path and Exmoor National Park with its stunning scenery and the area historically known as ‘Little Switzerland’ encompassing Lynton, Lynmouth and the Valley of the Rocks offer walkers a huge choice. Fisher folk are welcome to cast a fly in the trout stream and larger trout can be caught one mile downstream at Bratton Water and upstream at Wistlandpound. River fishing can be arranged.
The dramatic North Devon coast with its sandy beaches and towering cliffs are all just a short and enjoyable drive.
