Westland Farm is in a beautiful part of Devon, just a short drive from Barnstaple at Kentisbury. We are a small, working farm on the edge of Exmoor National Park and close to the North Devon coast. Our aim here is to enable you to wind down and reconnect with nature.

Everyone is welcome to the farm, including your canine companions. We do just ask that you keep your dogs under control as we do have livestock on site.

Guests can choose to camp or glamp with us. We have a range of amenities and features on-site, ensuring an enjoyable stay is had by all. Thinking of having a party, reunion or family get together? You can hire the whole facilities for your party for a very reasonable price.

Shepherd’s Hut

A beautifully built hut that is perfect for romantic breaks away or a small family. The hut includes:

King-size bed with memory foam mattress and child’s bunk above.

Wood burner.

Firepit.

Gas hob.

Dutch oven.

Kitchen area.

Private wood-fired hot tub.

The Shepherd Hut is set away on its own and has a fenced garden, gated access to the stream, outside seating and a private fire pit. It is possible to hire the Shepherd Hut for small group bookings, with camping available in the field next to the Shepherd Hut garden. There is also a bed and breakfast room in the farmhouse available for extra guests.

Drover’s Hut

Sleeps up to 5 people in a king-size bed, single bunk bed and a trestle bed. It is a more spacious hut and includes everything you need for an enjoyable break away. Set in a secluded corner, with styled access to the stream and wild garden. Built on an ex-army ammunitions trailer, it was bought by a local farmer who planned to turn it into a large trailer for carrying hay bales. We found it in a hedge, covered in ivy and with a tree growing up through it. We bought it, de-treed it and turned it into this lovely, cosy, romantic hut.

The drover's hut is fitted out beautifully, in a lovely peaceful corner of the field, has a decking area which has two gates to secure it for dogs or children, outdoor seating, table, fire pit and BBQ.

Camping

Back to basics camping just like it used to be! Only with a well-equipped, clean, heated toilet and shower block. We open for camping from the last week in May until the end of September.

If you would like to camp in an open field, under the stars, with a small campfire outside your tent, where you can sit and watch the night sky on a clear night with a beer in your hand then this is the camping site for you.

For families, there is plenty of room for children to run and play in the camping field. Children are most welcome to visit the farm animals, we will show you around. Collect freshly laid eggs, from the hens for breakfast.

Being close to Exmoor there is very little light pollution; when you are staying remember to look up and see the stars!
