Our hotel started life as two Victorian villas, which were joined together to create the building you see today. The building has striking Victorian architecture and many of the bedrooms still retain their elegant Victorian proportions and features as does the ground floor hallway.

All rooms have been thoughtfully decorated and furnished, ensuring an enjoyable and comfortable stay is had by all.

The beautiful restaurant area sets a cosy intimate ambience with soft lighting to create the perfect place to relax and enjoy beautifully crafted seasonal dishes. With a light and airy conservatory area available for larger parties and groups. One of the most quintessential of English customs was introduced in England by Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, in the year 1840. The Grand Hotel built in 1881 is the perfect place to take part in the customary tradition. Homemade scones made in our micro bakery accompanied by Devon clotted cream and homemade jam enjoyed alone as a Devon Cream Tea or alongside a selection of traditional finger sandwiches, cakes and pastries which can be devoured whilst enjoying the panoramic sea views.
