The Bankes Arms, Studland, Dorset
The Bankes Arms award winning Inn is a lovely old Purbeck Stone building with beautiful views of the sea and Isle of Wight.
We have 10 newly refurbished bedrooms for guests, which all have TV and coffee/tea making facilities. Many of the rooms also have sea views. Period features such as fireplaces have been retained where possible but all rooms are furnished in a contemporary style with your comfort as a priority.
The Bankes Arms Country Inn is also the home of the Isle of Purbeck Brewery where we brew fine ales on the premises to add to our range of nine ales, all sourced from small independent breweries. Our landlord of 22 years is a fellow of the British Institute of Inn Keeping. Our bar has two log fires and is candlelit in the evenings giving it a warm atmosphere.
A wide range of bar meals are available all day during the summer - all served from fresh local produce and transformed into home-made specials. Seafood and Fish dishes are a speciality and we also have a varied vegetarian menu. We cater for parties large and small and our extensive gardens, overlooking the sea, are the perfect setting for eating al fresco.
The Bankes Arms Country Inn is situated at the start of the famous Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. It is an ideal base to begin exploring this area, being close to Studland's beautiful long sandy beaches with their swimming and water sports, the beginning of magnificent cliff top and coastal walks, and fantastic natural sites such as the RSPB's major reserve.
