Gore Cottage on the edge of West Milton offers wonderful self catering accommodation in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nestled in a gorgeous countryside setting near Bridport in Dorset, we are only a 5-mile distance from the coast and ideal for walking and birdwatching.

Our charming cottage is Listed by Dorset Council as being “a building of special historic or architectural interest, Grade II”, perfect for a special getaway in the country. Set in its own garden in a tranquil location, there are stunning views from Eggardon Hill Fort toward West Milton.

Inside the cottage is a cosy sitting room with a wood burner and a good selection of games, books, cards, puzzles, guidebooks and maps. This a lovely space to unwind in after a day roaming the countryside. We also provide outdoor toys in the WC side of the thatched shed. Rustle up some delicious food in the large kitchen which comes with a range of appliances: electric cooker, microwave, fridge and automatic washing machine.

The cottage sleeps 5 people in three bedrooms. Upstairs there is a double room and a twin room. Downstairs there is a single room and a bathroom with a full-sized bath and basin. A separate WC and washbasin are downstairs and there is another WC in the thatched garden shed. All bed linen and towels are provided.

We are the ideal location for discovering all that the area has to offer. The area is full of picturesque walks. The village is around 4 miles from Bridport, 5 miles from West Bay, Bridport’s harbour and 5 miles from Beaminster. Bridport offers twice-weekly markets and West Bay is famous for its beautiful harbour and striking cliffs. You can also book a fantastic fishing trip or memorable boat tour of Lyme Bay.
