Arbigland Estate offers outstanding self catering accommodation in Arbigland, Dumfries & Galloway. We have an excellent range of self catering accommodation to suit all your needs.
Choosing places to stay is about location, location, location and we have some of the best sea side holiday cottages, traditional stone built cottages and gatehouse lodges in Scotland. We are dog friendly and perfect for children. You can even arrange to bring your horse.
Shore Cottage: Shore Cottage enjoys magnificent views across the Solway to the Lake District Mountains. We are perfect for exploring the unspoilt beauty and history of Dumfries and Galloway. The holiday cottage accommodation includes 3 bedrooms, a living room with electric wood burner, a fitted kitchen and large dining room with wooden floor. There is also a sun porch - an ideal place to relax and view the sea at the front gate.
Powillimount Cottage: Powillimount Cottage is a three bedroom semi detached traditional stone built Galloway cottage. For some reason it is not as popular as some of our other properties, perhaps because it is not as photogenic, but those guests who do come always want to come back. It is surrounded by cornfields and situated a 5 minute walk from a fabulous beach. It is quiet and secluded.
West Lodge: This delightful 19th Century gate lodge was at one time the estate schoolhouse, which might account for the unusually ornate slatework on the roof, making it look a little like a gingerbread house! Although it looks small on the outside it provides comfortable accommodation for 4 people. It is all on one level and therefore ideal for older people (although note that the doors are unfortunately too narrow for most wheelchairs).
Log Chalets: Our luxury log chalet sleeps 4 people in great comfort and provides the perfect self catering family holiday accommodation for a relaxing time exploring the beautiful countryside of Dumfries & Galloway.
Little Dunbar Cottage: This traditional estate workerís cottage has been lovingly restored and offers contemporary accommodation. The property sleeps up to 4 people in 2 double en suite rooms. The open plan living/kitchen area comes with a log burning stove. Outside there is a BBQ and garden furniture.
We are a traditional Scottish estate with a modern diversified business based on agriculture, property, events and tourism.
With its outstanding natural beauty and rich diversity of wildlife the estate forms part of the Nith Estuary Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and Upper Solway Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSI).
We are the perfect base to explore the local area. There are good climbing and abseiling locations nearby if you look on one of the specialist websites. Donít miss the opportunity to climb Criffel. You can see seven kingdoms from the top on a clear day! Salmon and sea trout fishing on the River Nith, Annan, Dee and Urr are all within easy reach. If you are into gardens, you could spend all week in some of the loveliest gardens in Britain. From snowdrop time onwards, and particularly at rhododendron time in May/June, the region of Dumfries and Galloway is a blaze of colour if you know where to look.
