Marthrown of Mabie offers a variety of glamping, camping and bunk house style accommodation in the heart of the Mabie Forest in Dumfries & Galloway. Our Forest bunkhouse has a total of 26 bed spaces and is ideal guest accommodation for those who want to explore this magnificent part of Scotland, The Mathrown of Mabie site has 2 lochs and many smaller ponds along with the variety of trees means that an amazing variety of wildlife abounds in Mabie Forest. Red squirrels and woodpeckers come right into the courtyard and many rare species of insect and bird life frequent the area.
Our forest bunk house has 4 bedroom and perfect for a large group of friends or family who want a break away. The 4 bedrooms are called Annan, Esk, Lower Nith and Upper Nith and are laid out as follows:
Annan has 8 beds – 4 sets of bunks.
Esk has 7 beds – 1 single and 3 sets of bunks.
Lower Nith has 6 beds – 3 sets of bunks.
Upper Nith has 4 beds – a king size and 3 singles.
Bottom sheet, pillow and pillowcase are provided. Duvets and bath towels are available to hire.
The living space inside the bunk house has a cosy lounge with a wood burning stove for those chilly evenings where you can gather round and chat. There is also a DVD/Video player and a selection of films. Outside there is a play area for football, badminton, volleyball or basketball along with hot tub, sauna and BBQ area.
There are also several other types of accommodation available on the Mathrown of Mabie site that can accommodate groups of any type or size. As well as our bunkhouse we have a tipi, yurt, camping facilities and an Iron Age roundhouse.
Marthrown of Mabie is right in the heart of the forest and is perfect for those who are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern day living. We are only a short drive from the region's capital town of Dumfries and has many activities available onsite for you to enjoy during your stay.
