The Cally Palace Hotel, Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries & Galloway
The Cally Palace Hotel is a pet friendly hotel located on the outskirts of Gatehouse of Fleet village in Dumfries. The hotel has 150 acres of beautiful grounds and guests have exclusive use of the 18 hole park ground Cally Palace Golf Course.
All 56 comfortable en suite bedrooms and suites have been furnished in a traditional style, but with all modern conveniences including satellite television.
In the Main House, the bedrooms range from standard through superior and deluxe to suites. All are individually designed and decorated, and each has its own character and charm.
The Forest Wing also has a wide range of accommodation, from standard to large and family sized rooms. Many have balconies and most have superb views over the grounds, lake and golf course.
The elegant dining room is complemented by first class cuisine. The chef and his team use only the freshest and finest of Galloway produce, including wild Solway salmon, to prepare memorable meals.
During dinner the pianist will be delighted to play your requests, while the attentive and friendly staff try to anticipate your every need. Gentlemen are required to wear jacket, collar and tie in the evenings.
The sunny conservatory is a wonderful place to relax, whether after an energetic round of golf, or just to escape modern day pressures. Enjoy a drink from the adjoining cocktail bar, where snacks and refreshments are available throughout the day.
The indoor leisure complex includes a 15 metre heated swimming pool, spa bath, sauna and air conditioned gym. In addition to the Leisure Complex, the snooker room, pool table and table tennis are available to guests within the Hotel.
The Hotel has an all weather tennis court, putting green and croquet lawn.
The Hotel Grounds were originally landscaped around 1700 by William Dewar, who studied at Kew Gardens. The gently rolling parkland is home to many mature specimen trees, among them Douglas fir, tulip tree, copper and purple beech, monkey puzzle and mature oaks.
The grounds are bordered by the six hundred acres of the Fleet Oak Woods. On one of our suggested walks, you may encounter roe deer, catch a glimpse of a red squirrel, see otters playing, and of course there are birds galore. The paths are also ideal for cycling.
