The Powder Mills is a stunning privately owned 18th Century listed country house hotel nestling in 150 acres of beautiful parklands, woods and large lakes.

Originally the site of a famous Gunpowder Works it was reputed to have made the finest gunpowder in Europe during the Napoleonic Wars. It has now been skilfully converted into a fascinating Hotel. The PowderMills is situated just outside the historic town of Battle and adjoins the famous Battlefield of 1066. Experience the easygoing atmosphere and the unpretentious comfort of this beautiful country house.

There is a range of 42 individually decorated guest bedrooms and junior suites in-keeping with the style of the House, many with four posters. From late 2013 there will be an additional 7 bedrooms overlooking the front lake at the hotel.

Standard Double/Twin
Standard rooms are all en suite with either a bath or shower, all have tea & coffee making facilities, satellite TV, iron and ironing board, mineral water and wireless internet access.

Executive Double/Twin
Executive rooms are spacious with beautiful views; all en suite with either a bath or shower, have tea & coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, satellite TV and have wireless Internet access. Some of our executive rooms are located in the Pavilion a short walk from the main hotel.

Junior Suites
Junior Suites have king size beds, a large comfortable seating area, have beautiful views and the marble tiled bathrooms have sunken baths. The suites have satellite TV, tea & coffee making facilities, iron and ironing boards, mineral water and wireless internet access. Five of our Suites are located in the Pavilion, a short walk from the hotel.

Every item is made on the premises including our bread, ice creams, sorbets and sweetmeats.

The Orangery Restaurant is the perfect place for any event from a leisurely luncheon or dinner, to a black tie dinner party.

There are many walks surrounding the hotel. Battle is one of England's oldest and most famous towns, famous for its Abbey and for the site of the Battle of 1066. There are many local attractions and places of interest open to the public.
