Dernwood Farm in Waldron offers wild woodland camping and luxury glamping, nestled on a charming working farm. Our site near Heathfield is in the heart of the Sussex Weald, offering the ultimate country escape.

We are a true paradise for nature lovers looking for somewhere special to stay. We have woodland pitches and a camping meadow in the middle of 70 acres of ancient, coppiced woodland. The wild camping area is for tents only and comes with open fires, perfect for huddling around whilst gazing at the starry night sky. We also have The Encampment, an exclusive woodland camping area with 3 pitches nestled around a natural area. This area includes a tree bog loo and a covered washing up area.

For a touch of luxury, we have an array of fabulous glamping options to choose from. We have charming bell tents which come with private clearings, a toasty wood-burning stove and toilet and shower facilities. We also have gorgeous safari tents which are set in a spacious sunny glade in a private woodland area. The tents include 3 beautiful bedrooms, a wood burner for the winter months, a hot shower and hot water.

The Cabin offers truly unique accommodation, built from William Hardie Designs after an idea by architect and renowned Channel 4 presenter George Clarke. It was even shown on the third series of George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces. The cabin boasts a range of wonderful features and has a big wood-fuelled hot tub to soak your muscles in.

You can also stay in The Wagon and our newest glamping accommodation, The Shepherd’s Hut. The Wagon is a magical gypsy caravan that has been beautifully converted to sleep 2 people. The caravan comes with a luxurious hot tub to soak your troubles away in. The Shepherd’s Hut is ideal for families and sleeps 4 people, with a cool loft bed for 2 children and sofa which pulls out to a large double. There is a walk-in wet room and set into the corner is a quirky tree-bog toilet.

Onsite we produce homegrown meat which is perfect for BBQs. You can also enjoy some tasty treats at Dernwood’s Cafe which serves coffee, milkshakes and loaded hot chocolates, breakfasts made with our own bacon, sausages and eggs, and lunchtime salads, paninis and cold snacks.
