Red Dragon Holidays is an 18th Century farmhouse that has been tastefully converted to create Aran, Snowdon, Tryfan and Sygun Cottage. Retaining many of the original features, these cottages offer homely accommodation and provide the perfect base to explore the wonders of North Wales.

On the same site, we also have a self contained log cabin and 5 eco-friendly camping pods. These offer the unique holiday experience, allowing you to be close to nature from the luxury of your own secure and heated accommodation.

The accommodation is within 4.5 acres of privately owned mountainside woodland, only 300 yards from the start of The Watkin Path to the top of Snowdon and opposite one of the most beautiful rivers in North Wales. Nestled in the Nantgwynant Valley between Llyn Dinas and Llyn Gwynant, our accommodation is the ideal base from which to explore Snowdonia with its spectacular scenery and fascinating mix of mountains, lakes, woodland and streams.

Aran Cottage: The largest of the properties situated within the farmhouse, Aran cottage offers spacious accommodation for up to 10 people.

The ground floor accommodation comprises of a living room with the original open fireplace, comfortable sofa, Freeview television and DVD player. Across the hallway is another large reception room with comfortable seating which leads onto the kitchen/diner, this makes a great place to gather and socialise. The kitchen/diner has all the usual kitchen utensils plus a large fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher.

The first floor has 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size 4-poster bed, wardrobe and chest of draws. Bedroom 2 has a king-size bed, a large pine wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a full-length mirror. Bedroom 3 has two single wrought iron beds and a chest of drawers. Bedroom 4 is smaller with a double bed. There is a double sofa bed in the lounge area of the kitchen. There is a large bathroom with a bath, electric shower, WC and a separate bathroom area with an extra toilet.

Aran Cottage has fitted carpets throughout and is heated via electric heaters in each room. Original open fireplace with log burner in the lounge and kitchen.

Tryfan Cottage: Forming part of a large period stone-built farmhouse. Tryfan Cottage offers spacious accommodation for up to 4 people. The accommodation comprises of open plan lounge/diner with comfortable relaxing sofas (including a sofa bed), a large fireplace, a Freeview television, a DVD player and a dining table.

The kitchen area has a fridge, microwave, electric cooker and all the usual equipment and utensils.

The double bedroom has original slate flooring and lightly painted walls. It has plenty of drawer space for your clothes and an electric heater for those cooler nights. The bathroom has an electric shower, washbasin and toilet.

Sygun Cottage: A delightful accommodation for 4 people, ensuring your stay will be an enjoyable and memorable one.

The accommodation comprises of a kitchen/diner with large fridge/freezer, electric cooker, microwave and all the usual kitchen utensils. The living room has two leather sofas, Freeview television and a DVD player, it also benefits from fitted carpet and an original open fireplace for those cosy nights in.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms; the master bedroom has a double wrought iron bed, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. The second bedroom has a bunk bed and a chest of drawers.

Both bedrooms have fitted carpets and benefit from en suite bathrooms with toilets, washbasin and power showers.

Snowdon Cottage: This recently renovated detached stone cottage sleeps up to 7 people. The accommodation comprises of 2 double bedrooms and 1 with a triple bunk bed. There is a large family bathroom with corner bath, separate large shower, WC and basin.

Downstairs the open plan large slate floored kitchen diner benefits from an 8 ring gas range cooker, integrated fridge, freezer and dishwasher and an automatic washing machine, microwave plus all the usual essentials to make your stay like a home-from-home. The oak floored lounge area has sofas to relax at the end of the day, Freeview TV and DVD player.

The property has full central heating upstairs and underfloor heating downstairs.

Maple Lodge Log Cabin: This traditionally styled log cabin sleeping 2 comfortably (4 max) is set in the breathtaking Snowdonia national park offers everything you will need to ensure you have a relaxing and comfortable stay.

The living/dining area has a fully fitted kitchen including electric cooker, fridge and kettle. It has a comfortable sofa, coffee table and Freeview television, DVD player and games console for your enjoyment.

Both the living and bedroom areas are warmed via electric wall heaters. There is a loft area with 2 single mattresses, with restricted headroom, accessed by6 ladder and only suitable for older children or adults. The bathroom features a powerful electric shower, washbasin, toilet and heated towel rail. Internally the cabin is fully timber clad completing that cosy log cabin feeling.

Camping Pods: Sleeping 2 people per pod, they offer self contained secure accommodation with 2 full size divan beds. Guests have access to:

The beautiful Aberglaslyn Pass and the beaches of the Llyn Penisula are a short drive away (dog friendly beach all year at Black Rock Sands) and the wooded vales, rocky slopes and mountain lakes fill the surrounding countryside. The village, in keeping with its location in the Snowdonia National Park, is picturesque and unspoilt. Small and friendly, it boasts a full range of amenities including a local shop, Post Office, cafes, pubs, restaurants, gift shops and an award winning ice cream parlour.
