Hollins Farm Holiday Park, Carnforth, Lancashire
A friendly site, Hollins Farm lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between two of North Lancashire’s most picturesque coastal villages, Silverdale and Arnside. With chickens clucking around and goats bleating in the field, it truly is a place to get away from it all. You can walk for miles along the coast, enjoying the dramatic views of Morecambe Bay with the towering mountains of the Lake District at the other side.
Come and relax for a weekend or longer off the beaten track. Tourers and tents are welcome at our site. Meet our friendly farm animals, visit the goats and ponies, and if you're lucky, enjoy freshly laid eggs for breakfast courtesy of our hens.
Our flagship Silverdale park is only a 5 minute walk away and the village is a further 20 minutes on from there. A stone built heated toilet and shower facility including a launderette, pot wash and small TV/games room.
Hollins Farm has always been described as a ‘proper’ campsite, just a friendly site warden, decent loos and washing facilities, like-minded campers and acres of trees and green fields. Well that's the way we want to keep it but anyone who knows Holgates knows we don't do 'decent' loos which is why in 2012 we built a brand new, stone built facilities block featuring under floor heating, fully tiled, accessible with family changing and a new laundrette facility.
Of course none of this takes away from the fantastic 'back to nature' feel of the farm, nor indeed the sea views or characteristic farm animals all around.
We have two Family Pods at Hollins Farm. These Pods sleep 2 adults and 2-3 small children. Each pod has lighting, heating and a plug socket. All you need to bring is your camping gear-minus the tent, a great experience for those of you who want a bit more comfort. With great views across the Bay and in small wooded area, its heaven! Prices start from £40.00 based on two adults.
It is just a 5 minute walk across a field to reach our flagship Silverdale park, where you are welcome to use our leisure facilities, bar and restaurant.
A 20 minute walk takes you to the nearest pub, or you can carry on for 10 more minutes to reach Silverdale village where there are more pubs, village shops and a restaurant. Silverdale also has the RSPB’s Leighton Moss, home to some of the UK’s rarest birds, including the elusive Bittern.
Parking is provided on the grass next to your tent pitch. In the event of a heavy rainfall we may ask guests not to park on the grass. We do have a car park to the front of the park and some gravel parking close to the tent pitches.
Surrounding Hollins Farm there is a wide variety of scenery, from historic ruins to sandy beaches. The historic city of Lancaster and seaside Morecambe are a short drive away and within half an hour you can be in The Lake District with its stunning landscape of mountains, fells and lakes.
