Arniston House in Gorebridge offers magnificent self catering accommodation in a glorious location. Nestled on a 6000-acre working estate in stunning Midlothian countryside, we are a haven for relaxation and tranquillity. The estate has a wonderful livery, ideal for horse lovers who want to take their horses on holiday with them.
Our 4 beautifully furnished cottages are on based on Arniston Estate, home to the Dundas family since 1571. All the cottages are well equipped to suit all your needs and just a short journey from Edinburgh. All the properties include a TV and DVD player, fully equipped kitchen and all bed linen and towels.
Gardeners House – Sleeps 6: This unique property is set into the old walled garden in a private position, set beside a gorgeous stream which flows into the sunken garden. The sitting comes with an open fire and sofa bed. The dining room has a cosy wood burner and large doors which open onto the walled garden. Upstairs there is a double en suite room, twin and bunk room. A bathroom comes with a shower over the bath and a further WC is downstairs.
Lime Cottages – Sleeps 4: Lime Cottage, Chestnut Cottage and Sycamore Cottage are nestled in a wonderful setting on Lime Avenue Drive. These south-facing properties all offer a charming modern twist and include superb views over farmland. On the ground floor comes a well-equipped kitchen and a relaxing sitting/dining room. A double bedroom has en suite facilities. Upstairs there is a double room and a bathroom.
Chestnut Cottage – Sleeps 4: This gorgeous south-facing cottage is perfect for a relaxing holiday in a breathtaking location. On the ground floor is a lovely sitting/dining room with an open fire. The well-equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar. Bedrooms consist of a ground floor double/twin and first-floor king. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC.
Sycamore Cottage – Sleeps 4: Tucked away in the peaceful courtyard, this cottage also has a private fenced garden to enjoy. On the ground floor is a well-equipped kitchen and cosy lounge. Upstairs there are two comfortable bedrooms which share a bathroom.
We can offer a range of activities to book on the estate to create the ultimate holiday experience. You can arrange to hire bikes, enjoy whisky tasting, clay pigeon shooting, a private tour of the house, archery, fishing and drone flying lessons. Hampers are also available using locally grown produce.
