The Countryman's Inn is a traditional country inn, with modern hotel accommodation, in the village of Hunton, Lower Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. The inn offers a warm welcome, a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and is an integral part of the village community of Hunton.

We offer 4 ensuite bedrooms offering flexible/quality accommodation ranging from single occupancy, double, triple and family accommodation sleeping up to 5 people. All of the rooms have been recently re-decorated & are well maintained with new memory foam beds, new bathrooms & furniture fitted in 2010/2011.

We also have specific "Pet Friendly" rooms for guests who want to bring well behaved cats or dogs. All of the first floor rooms are bright and airy and tastefully decorated in a contemporary style.
We have 4 separate private paddocks for guests horses and for guests to safely exercise their dogs.
Whether you are looking for a "Pub Classic", Vegetarian, Children's Special or an a la carte dinner for that special occasion you will find an extensive choice of locally sourced and freshly prepared dishes. The Olive Tree Restaurant is open 7 evenings per week, the pub is 3 Star AA Gold Award rated.
With good beer and good food you can relax in the bar with its beamed ceilings and seasonal log fire.
We have a selection of up to 5 cask conditioned ales, 3 brewed within 10 miles of the pub, Camra LocAle guests from as far away as 30 miles & Cask Ales from throughout the UK! Since achieving the Cask Marque accreditation in 2011 we have installed a dedicated cask ale "python" to ensure the beers are served at the optimum "Cellar Cool" temperature. At our last Cask Marque inspection all our cask ales were rated 5/5 by the inspector!
Middleham's contemporary fame is as the largest race horse training centre in the North of England. There are numerous stables in and around the town and horses are trained on both Middleham Low Moor immediately outside the town and on Middleham High Moor approximately 2 miles outside the town. Middleham High Moor is just below Penn Hill & looks down into Swaledale and over to Bolton Castle. The town has held an annual Stable Open Day on Good Friday for over 25 years to raise money for Racing and local charities. The majority of stables are open from old well established third generation family trainers to the largest and one of the top three training yards in the UK.
North Yorkshire is rich in history with many interesting sites both in the country and the historic city of York. Of particular local interest are two famous Abbeys, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal has been designated a World Heritage site, the only one in Yorkshire and is about 20 miles distant. More local is Jearvaux Abbey. This ruined abbey is about 7 miles away and is ideal for a relaxing country walk, ending with a site of historic interest. Tea rooms/ Garden Centre.
