The Blackcock Country Inn (built in the 17th Century) and Restaurant is Les Routiers award winning UK B&B and Restaurant of the year 2013. This pet friendly, 17th century Inn (the first and last in England) is traditionally built in local stone and is situated in a picturesque village next to the stunning scenery and wildlife of Kielder Water & Forest Park. The inn is also approved accommodation for the Kielder Observatory of dark skies.

The lake shoreline and forest glades can best be explored on foot, cycle, horseback or mountain bike where two of the best single track trails in England (differently graded) can be experienced. As one of the largest lakes in Northern Europe, Kielder Water is able to offer a wide range of water based activities from water skiing and windsurfing to the more relaxing boating and angling, while the cruiser “Osprey” offers an ideal way to explore the lake.
