Hadrian's Wall Campsite in Melkridge offers camping, glamping and touring facilities near the world-renowned Hadrian’s Wall. Our campsite near Haltwhistle in Northumberland is a paradise for nature lovers looking for somewhere tranquil to stay.

Our scenic campsite is the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life. The campsite boasts stunning views of the natural landscape, with hardstanding grass pitches available on several levels. Most of the pitches have electric hook up.

Excellent facilities onsite include a heated shower and toilet block with a washing up area, laundry/drying room and fridge/freezer. The shop sells essentials and in the high season and we offer breakfast buns of bacon, sausage and/or egg along with tea/barista coffee. A small hut is available for backpackers, offering a great space to cook and eat on a rainy day.

You can enjoy a touch of luxury in our glamping accommodation. We have 2 traditional canvas bell tents and 4 shepherd huts available. All of the accommodation comes with a range of facilities for a comfy stay.

The charming bell tents consist of one which will sleep 4 in a double and 2 single futon beds, plus a second one with a fixed double bed, ideal for a romantic getaway. A toasty wood burner is great for those chilly days and you hire a mobile kitchen. Outside there is a fire pit to huddle around whilst gazing at the starry night sky. Camping chairs and a BBQ are also available.

The magical shepherd huts are ideal for the ultimate rural retreat. One of the huts boasts amazing views of Hadrian’s Walls and includes a lavish double bed for a restful night’s sleep. The other 3 huts are nestled on our top meadow and offer decking areas from where you can admire the stunning meadow views. These huts include a double bed and a sofa bed.

All the huts include a wood-burning stove for the winter months, a sofa, a little kitchen, a foldaway table and chairs, plus fire pit/BBQ and camping chairs for al fresco dining whilst savouring the views. Behind the kitchen is a delightful shower room with a flushing toilet, basin and shower.

A bunk barn also offers accommodation, consisting of 1 room with 4 bunks and 1 of 6. A microwave and a supply of kettle for tea/coffee is available.

Whilst staying with us you can make the most of our amazing location, with The Hadrian’s Wall Path offering an 84 mile long National Trail, stretching coast to coast. You can also walk along The Pennine Way National Trail, offering some of the finest scenery in England. Brilliant attractions to visit include:
