Outbrecks Cottages, Stromness, Stenness, Orkney
Outbrecks Cottages are a collection of self catering holiday homes located in a beautiful part of Scotland just outside of Stenness. We offer our guests a chance to unwind and relax in comfort and view the spectacular surrounding scenery in fabulous locations by the World Heritage Site in Stenness. Our holiday accommodation is close to the famous trout fishing lochs of Harray and Stenness in the Orkney Islands.
Raingoose is a beautifully designed house with traditional Orkney stone frontage and Welsh slate roof. It commands stunning, uninterrupted views over the Bay of Ireland to the Hoy Hills, arguably one of the best vistas in Orkney. Set in its own large garden, 200 metres from the Bay of Ireland, with the excellent secluded shoreline, Raingoose has access to our adjacent fields and a path to the secluded shore.
Sleeping up to six people, it offers modern amenities in excellent accommodation. Luxuriate in the sitting room, view the incredible skies and beautiful scenery through the picture window or watch the seals resting on the shore and birds wheeling. Be snug with its multi-fuel stove and central heating. Relax in the well-appointed kitchen and dining area, which offer the same stunning views. It is an ideal place to relax and a great base to explore the nearby famous archaeological sites, walk, cycle, play golf, photograph and paint or just potter in Stromness or Kirkwall.
Pine Trees Bothy:
Pine Trees Bothy is a bright, beautifully designed new self catering cottage, tranquil and relaxing and in an area of outstanding beauty. It has been converted and extended to provide luxurious accommodation for two people, although the bedroom (the original Bothy cottage) is suitable as a family room. This delightful large bedroom has a cathedral ceiling and interesting features. Every ceiling is tongue and groove wood, and all except the bedroom have recessed spotlights.
In its previous life, the original Bothy was my art studio and prior to that was a farm worker’s cottage/grain store in the 19th Century. It is of a high standard and has been thoughtfully constructed in sympathy with its natural woodland/farmland surroundings. It still retains original Orkney stone frontage on one wall, while another has double wooden cladding and the rest are pebble - dashed. The sitting room and open plan stylish kitchen/dining area is spacious, light and attractive. Soak up the idyllic woodland scene through the large patio doors towards the Bay and Hoy Hills. Cosy in or venture out to enjoy the clean, pure air, walking, bird watching, photography, painting and easy access to archaeological sites, nearby beach, fishing lochs, towns and shops. Keep in touch with free Wi-Fi.
Scootie Cottage is just over 100 metres from the grassy access path to the beautiful, secluded shoreline of the Bay of Ireland. It can accommodate 4 people in 2 double bedrooms. There is a comfortable living room and a well equipped kitchen. Outside is a patio area with access to the surrounding fields.
Our holiday accommodations are perfect for a short or long break away and Orkney has plenty of things to do, places of interest and many stunning views to enjoy.
