The Slap Cottage offers fantastic self catering accommodation in Ruemuera on the island of Burray. Our beautifully restored working croft house in Orkney dates from the 19th Century and overlooks Scapa Flow, Churchill Barriers and the island of Copinsay.

We are right on the coast and can see the Northern Lights, killer whales and dolphins at the right time of year. The Slap is set in 6 acres of land and you will even be able to feed our baby goats. At certain times you can also see newborn lambs, ducklings and ducks, baby chicks and lots of free-range eggs. We truly are an idyllic holiday destination.

Our ground level property comes with flagstone floors and beams open to the roof, creating a cosy and warm atmosphere. The cottage is tastefully furnished throughout and boasts stunning sea views. A well-equipped kitchen comes with a cooker, microwave, fridge, sink, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and a working fire. You can relax in the lounge which comes with Freeview TV, a DVD player, iPod dock and double sofa bed. The bedroom comes with a comfortable double bed and hair dryer. A bathroom has a power shower and WC.

The airport is only a 20-minute drive away and the Gills Bay Ferry to Scotland is about 10 minutes away. The Orkney Isles are a collection of wonderful islands. Scapa Flow is one of the best diving sites on the world and you can stroll along one of the many sandy beaches. You can also play a round of golf on the new golf course in the village of St Margrets Hope.
