Puffin Quoy Cottage, Orphir, Orkney
Puffin Quoy Cottage in Orphir offers charming self catering accommodation in a breathtaking location. You can enjoy stunning views of the sea and watch the local fishing boats in the Bay of Houton, perfect for the ultimate coastal getaway in Orkney.
Our historic Listed stone-built cottage has been beautifully renovated to offer high-quality accommodation. We are nestled in a tranquil setting and from the terrace you can savour outstanding views over Scapa Flow and the beach. The cottage maintains many original features such as ancient stone walls and wooden beams, whilst offering modern facilities.
The luxurious cottage includes a spacious lounge with comfy sofas, TV/Blue-Ray player, a toasty log burning stove and a dining area. This is a lovely space to unwind with a coffee whilst admiring the amazing sea views. You can cook up some delicious dishes in the well-equipped kitchen and a bedroom comes with a king-size bed. The en suite wet room features a shower and whirlpool bath with mood lighting.
While staying with us you can take advantage of our fabulous gardens. In June 2014, the Quoy Gardens were asked to open as part of Scotland Gardens and the garden is now featured in Ken Cox’s book “Scotland Gardens”.
We are only a short stroll to the beach and just a 10-minute drive from the North Link Stromness to Scrabster ferrie. You can also see many historical sites, such as Maes Howe chambered tomb and the Ring of Brodgar.
