Details

The Yat is a small eco friendly guest house in Llandrindod Wells, Powys. We have spring water on tap and serve organic food and provide superb accommodation, ensuring you have the best stay possible.

We have three guest bedrooms, one double, one twin bedded and one single room. Both the twin and the double have bathrooms en suites and the single has a shower room and toilet opposite. There is spring water on tap and in the summer solar panels heat the water.

The house dates from the 15th Century and has been sensitively and tastefully restored by its current owners, one of whom is an artist. The character of the house has been retained but it has the convenience of modern amenities. In the winter we have log fires in our dining room and library but the house also benefits from central heating, with under floor heating downstairs under the ancient flagstone floors. The bedrooms themselves have been carefully decorated, in some cases using lime plaster and cassein paint. One of the bedrooms has an ancient elm floor, which has been carefully restored and polished, using natural waxes.

We serve a full English breakfast, with a choice of dishes, using organic ingredients whenever possible. Vegetarian options are available. Tea and coffee facilities are available in the dining room for guests to help themselves whenever they wish.

Our extensive library is available for guests to use and wi-fi is available in the guest bedrooms. A beautiful garden surrounds the house, where guests may sit and enjoy the views. We have a vegetable garden and an orchard and serve our own organic vegetables in season.

Dinner is available on request. Organic wine is served with dinner. Special diets are catered for if ordered in advance.
