The Old Station is a dog friendly bed and breakfast that can be found in the heart of the Shropshire countryside at Leaton just 4 miles from Shrewsbury. This former railway station built in 1847 has been extensively renovated and now provides beautiful deluxe accommodation.

Relax in one of 6 luxuriously appointed bedrooms, named after GWR Steam Engines, each with en suite shower rooms finished with Victorian style decorated suites. You can choose from quad, triple, double or twin rooms some with TVs and all with tea and coffee making facilities. Each guest bedroom has unique character and décor with wonderful antique beds and furniture dating from the 17th Century to early 20th Century. For our less able guests there is a wheelchair accessible ground floor room with en suite wet room.

Breakfast is included within the room rate and can be enjoyed in our dining room. Your tables are covered in embroidered cloths; you will eat from Minton bone china using Villeroy & Boch and Viners cutlery and drink from crystal glasses. On your first evening, should you wish to dine, please telephone beforehand to order your evening meal and chat about your menu and how many courses you would like. Special diets are catered for wherever possible. On subsequent evenings the menu can be discussed over breakfast.

Our bed and breakfast is set in the heart of the Shropshire countryside less than 10 minutes drive via country roads from the historic county town of Shrewsbury, the central hub of Shropshire. It is situated adjacent to the Bomere Heath cricket ground with the village of Bomere Heath only half a mile away with its local amenities of a small Co-op supermarket/newsagent, a Post Office, a hairdresser and a fish & chip shop. From here you can visit many places of interest in Shropshire, Cheshire and the Welsh Borders. It is also located on the Shrewsbury to Oswestry bus route.

A maximum of 2 dogs at a time with a charge of £5 per dog per stay (extra charge if any damage occurs). There is a kennel available with a large run which is suitable for all weathers. Please don't forget to bring your bowls, dog blankets, leads, towels, food and treats with you so that your pooch can enjoy its stay as much as we hope you will. If you forget anything then please ask and we can lend for the duration of your stay. We allow a maximum of 2 dogs per guest room. There is a nominal charge of £5 total for your dog/dogs. The charge is per stay, not per night.
