Riscombe Farm, Exford, Minehead, Somerset
Riscombe Farm offers self catering holiday cottages and high quality accommodation in the heart of Exmoor National Park, near the border of Somerset and Devon in the West Country of England. We are situated at Exford just a 15 minute drive from the beautiful coast.
Our four very comfortable stone self catering holiday cottages were converted from barns and this accommodation retains the old character of these buildings. They sleep 2, 4, 5 and 6 people, in one, two and three bedroom cottages. These and the stables are set around a large courtyard, which provides ample parking. Pets are welcome and stabling is available for your horse. Riscombe is the perfect base for your holiday.
All the cottages are fully self-contained with full central heating and well-equipped with satellite TV and DVD player. There are log fires in the three larger cottages. There are baths and showers in each cottage. Bed linen and towels are provided. We welcome well-behaved pets, and we are open all year. There is Games Room, Laundry plus Drying Room and a secure Cycle storage room. All cottages are non-smoking.
Wi-Fi is available free in all of our cottages.
Please note that many couples book one of the larger cottages to have more room and more facilities, so if there are only two of you don't just look at Gorse Cottage (as seen on our website)! There is a discount for only 2 people in the larger cottages.
Bring your own horse for a holiday on Exmoor and enjoy some of the best riding in England. We offer DIY livery available in 6 loose boxes, and there is a secure, heated, well-equipped tack room with hot & cold water. Bedding and hay can be provided at cost, and grazing is normally available. Riscombe Farm is well placed to explore the countryside with long and short rides in all directions, to Dunkery Beacon, Tarr Steps, the Doone Valley, and along the Rivers Exe and Barle. Ride route maps can be provided.
We are 15 miles from Minehead. Our beautiful area has recently received a lot of coverage on BBC TV by wildlife enthusiast Johnny Kingdom. The farm is over 300 years old, and is in a peaceful, relaxing location beside the River Exe, near the beautiful village of Exford. Stroll along our riverside fields and through the woodland, and relax in one of our beautiful cottages after a day out enjoying Exmoor and the nearby majestic coast.
