Riscombe Farm, Exford, Minehead, Somerset
Riscombe Farm offers self catering holiday cottages and high quality accommodation in the heart of Exmoor National Park, near the border of Somerset and Devon in the West Country of England. We are situated at Exford just a 15 minute drive from the beautiful coast.
Our four very comfortable stone self catering holiday cottages were converted from barns and this accommodation retains the old character of these buildings. They sleep 2, 4, 5 and 6 people, in one, two and three bedroom cottages. These and the stables are set around a large courtyard, which provides ample parking. Pets are welcome and stabling is available for your horse. Riscombe is the perfect base for your holiday.
All the cottages come with cosy living rooms, well-equipped kitchens, beautiful bedrooms and modern bathrooms. Each cottage has satellite smart TV with BBC iPlayer, ITV Player and Demand 5 etc. Excellent appliances in the kitchens include an electric hob plus oven, a fridge freezer, a microwave and a cafetiere etc. A toasty log fire is available in Fern Cottage and Heather Cottage.
Gorse Cottage - Sleeps two in a double room and includes a porch area.
Fern Cottage – Sleeps 2 – 4 in a double and twin. Includes an enclosed private garden with a table and chairs.
Bracken Cottage – Sleeps 2 – 5 in a double and triple room.
Heather Cottage – Sleeps 2 – 6 in a double and 2 twin rooms. Includes an enclosed private garden.
You can bring your horse in holiday to Riscombe Farm. We offer DIY Livery in 4 loose boxes and there is a secure, heated, well-equipped tack room with hot and cold water. There is plenty of grazing/turnout in our fields which run down to the River Exe. Bedding and hay can be provided at cost, and grazing is normally available. Riscombe Farm is well placed to explore the countryside with long and short rides in all directions, to Dunkery Beacon, Tarr Steps, the Doone Valley, and along the Rivers Exe and Barle. Ride route maps can be provided.
We are 15 miles from Minehead. Our beautiful area has recently received a lot of coverage on BBC TV by wildlife enthusiast Johnny Kingdom. The farm is over 300 years old, and is in a peaceful, relaxing location beside the River Exe, near the beautiful village of Exford. Stroll along our riverside fields and through the woodland, and relax in one of our beautiful cottages after a day out enjoying Exmoor and the nearby majestic coast.
