Harsgeir View Cottage is located in a beautiful part of the Western Isles of Scotland. It is set on a 10 acre croft at Hacklete on the beautiful island of Great Bernera at Hacklete. From our pet friendly cottage you can enjoy views over to Harsgeir Island. The cottage is ideally situated and is a great base for anyone wishing to get away from it all, relax and take in the stunning scenery. It is also an ideal base for anyone wishing to explore the Isle of Lewis.

We are going green in 2021 with the installation of an Air Source Heat Pump for hot water and central heating, reducing our carbon footprint. CO2 detectors, Heat detectors and Smoke Alarms all renewed in May 2021. For a greener holiday experience, we are also installing 10 ground-based solar panels.

Our self catering cottage offers accommodation for 4 people, consisting of 1 double bedroom with a large 4 poster bed and one room with 2 single beds. The bathroom comes with an electric shower over the bath. In the cosy living room, there is a wood burner to keep you toasty. In May we renovated our kitchen with shaker-style ivory units. It now has an induction hob and a range of appliances to suit all your needs.

Hasgeir View also has flat-screen TV, DVD and CD player. All crockery and cooking utensils, bed linen and towels are supplied. Fire extinguishers and alarms fitted as standard.

Great Bernera is only 8km long and 3km wide. It lies in the Loach Roag off the west coast of Lewis and is connected to the Isle of Lewis by a road bridge. The island is situated in a naturally stunning location with views over to the beaches and cliffs of Uig. The cottage is a 3 min drive from the beaches of Croir and Bosta and there are some stunning locations for such a small island. The local shop in the village of Breaclete offers a mini market (licenced), Post Office and garage.
