Crich Tramway Village

Matlock, Derbyshire

Crich Tramway Village offers the perfect family day out in Matlock, Derbyshire. You can enjoy a ride on one of our famous trams through a delightful period street and into the stunning countryside. Our dog friendly village has a range of superb attractions available for all ages.

Our charming trams depart regularly from the town end and call at a range of stops along a mile long track. This is the perfect way to savour views of the lush countryside. We also host a range of exhibitions, including a Century of Trams, which takes you on a wonderful journey through a hundred years of tramway development. The Stephen Discovery Centre is in the heart of the Museum and now offers a brand new state of the art learning facility. You can even watch the museumís skilled workshop staff restoring trams in The workshop Viewing Gallery.

Funded by the Countryside Agency, the Woodland Walk & Sculpture Trail is dotted with sculptures and boast glorious views across the Derwent Valley and Derbyshire countryside.

The Red Lion is in a popular part of our recreated street scene. Hot and cold food, drinks and a fine selection of cask ales are available. The period street also has Ritaís Tea Rooms, Barnettís Sweep Shop and the Ice Cream Parlour.

We are family friendly and children will love our large indoor and outdoor play areas.
