You can stroll along the gorgeous lakeside paths and savour views from the Victorian Terrace. The magnificent Edwardian formal garden is one of the finest examples of the world renowned partnership between garden designer Gertrude Jekyll and architect Sir Edwin Lutyens.

Hestercombe House, including the Column Room Restaurant and Hestercombe Contemporary Art Gallery, are the only places which are not dog friendly. Inside the house you can enjoy a variety of art exhibitions which are exhibited all year round.

After exploring the house and gardens you can visit The Stables Cafe. The cafe serves freshly ground coffee, tea, homemade cakes and lunches. The elegant Column Room Restaurant is ideal for a traditional British afternoon tea. You can admire wonderful views of the Formal Gardens of the Victorian Terrace and Great Plat while dining.

Next to the picnic area is a children’s play area and The Gardens Shop & Plant Centre offers gardening essentials and gifts.
